Why Have a LinkedIn Company Page?

Spread the love

Much like any Social Media platform, LinkedIn has evolved. What started as a platform for solely recruiting and networking, has now turned into something much greater than that. As a business owner you need to utilize all of the free, are you utilizing the tools that are being handed to you?

LinkedIn rolled out with Business or Company Pages in November of 2018, so it is a fairly new resource to using LinkedIn. Naturally, as with all new things, people have questions:

  • Why is it important to have a LinkedIn Company Page?
  • What are the benefits?
  • What will I gain from having a LinkedIn account for my Business?

If you have a business I’m sure you have heard of brand awareness. LinkedIn Business Pages are another way to increase your company’s brand awareness, as well as increase your searchability. Both of these action items will lead to your business showing up in Google searches and exposing your products and services to a greater audience. Brand awareness and searchability are two things any business strives for- if you plan on being successful!

Now, let’s refer back to the main reason LinkedIn was invented: Networking. Having a LinkedIn Company page allows you to network with other businesses, other professionals (both in and out of your industry), and even future employees. Networking is important for many personal and professional reasons, but it is also important for technical reasons.

The technical reasons we are referring to are things like increasing your engagement, page reach, and account views (aka searchability). The best thing about technicalities is that there is typically an answer to your problem. Engagement low? Interact more with other accounts and businesses. Page reach not where you want it? Create a stronger call to action to drive people to look at your page or product. All good things, right?

While your LinkedIn Company Page will benefit the business itself, it will also increase the quality of your team on a new level that you may have never thought of. When creating a LinkedIn Business page, you are now allowing your employees to network on their professional level. You give them a space to network within each other, with other professionals in your industry, and on behalf of your business itself.

For example, an employee of yours puts on her personal LinkedIn that she works at your company. She connects with someone that may be seeking a resource that you offer. She has now put a personal feel to your company, which then leads back to them referring back to your LinkedIn Company Page, and then utilizing your resource. It’s a win, win for everyone.

A looked over benefit to LinkedIn Company Pages is the ability to be relevant to your consumers, and to keep an eye out for what your competition is doing. LinkedIn has 706 million users globally, with 2 more users added every second — the platform is large and will reach an immense amount of people if the effort is given. However, there are A LOT of other companies on LinkedIn, and unfortunately, there are other businesses like yours. In short, the relevancy of your customers, compared to how many users there are on LinkedIn, is that your Company page can have an audience, but that audience may be following your competitor since your business is not set up on LinkedIn. You can’t compete in the race if you’re not signed up for it, right?

So, what do you think… are you going to create that LinkedIn Company Page?
